What’s Really New About The New Year?

Welcome.

Hey Fam🤗,

It’s such a beautiful day🌻

This is our first post for year and it’s okay to wish you a happy new💃🎊. Welcome to the beautiful year of 2021. I am confident that it is going to be a great year for us as long as we are ready to do the work.

I know many of us must have been preparing for the new year, setting and writing down our goals, creating vision boards and making great plans. This is an awesome beginning. However, success is beyond setting goals. It is one thing to set goals and it’s a different ball game to achieve them and to be consistent at it.

“Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress” – James Clear

Your Goals in Systems.

My current read for the month of January is Atomic Habit by James Clear (I recommend this book for you. It will help you put your goals in perspective. PS: Roving Heights will be doing a review on the book come the 17th of this month and It’d be great if you join. Detail is on their Instagram page), and he talked about how our habits affects our goals and how we can effectively achieve them. To achieving your goals, a process will be involved and beyond good, it’s great if you don’t fixate on the goals, which are about the end result but critically consider the processes that will be involved in achieving those goals. In his book Atomic Habits, James Clear mentioned that “we do not rise to the level of our goals but we fall to the level of our systems”

What system/structure are you putting in place to ensure your 2021 goals do not keep sitting pretty on paper without it being actualized? If you think of any goal you want to achieve, figure out the the system that’ll ensure the progress of it and these systems are successfully in place because of the habits you have formed.

“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals” – James Clear

See why you need to read Atomic Habit? (I will do a review of the book when I’m through reading it tho).

A Wrap.

The month is pretty young, so it’s great for you to go back to those goals and work out systems to ensure they support your ultimate goal or else, you will just be wasting your time like every other year.

Like I mentioned earlier, it’s going to be a great year for us if we are ready to do the work. Let me know what you’re going to do differently about your goals this month and the months to come.

Cheers to an awe-mazing year🥂💖

  1. This seems to be a recurring theme when successful people talk about achievements:

‘Who you become in the process is more important than what you achieve at the end.”

Well done. Will look forward to Roving Height’s review.
