Are You Worth The Investment?

Are you worth the investment?

I know this question must have popped into your mind when you were at the verge of paying for a course, or signing up for a music school, or booking a session at the spa, or whatever it was that you thought you needed.

Are you really worth all these investment you’re about to make?

Bring your ear close let me whisper something to you very quickly, “You are worth every investment you want to make on you for your growth and advancement” You hear that? And that’s on period!

There was a time we were mandated at work to acquire a particular  certification and the organization decided to pay for everyone and there was a caveat to that, which was that if anybody failed, they would have to pay for that course themselves. It wasn’t a cheap course.

At some point I asked myself if I was really worth the huge investment the organization was making on me, but looking at it deeply, I realized that I am worth every single investment I make towards my all-round growth, including the ones people who love make towards me. This investment includes either time, money or energy. This should apply to you too.

“The best gift you can give to yourself is to invest in yourself” – Pooja Agnihotri

The mindset…

“As a Man Thinketh in his heart, so he is” – Proverbs 23:7

One of the many reasons why we usually have doubts about the things that should come to us is the kind of mindset we have.

Some people have romanced all the self-limiting belief there is and even when an external party validates them, they don’t seem to realize their worth.

There is something called mind transformation which you must have. You need to begin to take in what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God for your life because He is your creator and he has got the blueprint of your life.

You must learn a new way to think before you can master a new way to be” – Marianne Williamson

He calls you worthy, so why call yourself less?

He says you have the mind of Christ, so why are you thinking sub-optimally? Do you even realize how the mind of Christ works? The mind of the One who conceptualized the universe before he brought it to reality. That’s big and you’ve got it.

Begin to live in that light.

It comes at a cost…

Investing in yourself does not come at a platter of gold, it comes at a cost and you must be ready to pay for it. There are sacrifices you have got to make for you to get to your destined height.

“You cannot have your cake and eat it”

As growth comes at a cost, here are a few things to consider:

  • It might require that you give time, energy or money depending on the kind of investment required. Pay to acquire that skill, spend time for personal study and put in your very best.

If you think education is expensive, just try ignorance“- Derek Bok

  • It might also warrant that you change your inner circle. If you are around people who do not challenge you to grow or become a better version of yourself, you are in the wrong place. Surround yourself with people who are interested in your growth and can encourage you to challenge the status quo. You would be thankful that you did.

Stop blaming other people for your own behaviour! Own the truth. If you don’t like it, then invest time and energy to change it“- Akiroq Brost

  • It might require that you join a community. Engage in places, people and events that can help you get fueled and recharged. Join a community where you share same faith, join a community where you have a common goal that can help fuel you mission.

“Let yourself grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. Do it for you, for those you love, and for the good of the world.”
