There's a way to live
Life

There’s a way to live.

There’s a way to live life.

June was the month where I had a heighten level of this is a lesson for you to learn coming to me as if I don’t learn lessons from other months🌝; but yeah, I was more attentive and I jotted things down.

The lessons learned was spread across experiences from my interactions with people, the decisions I made, books I read, and just generally how the month panned out. All of these pointed to the fact that there’s actually a way to live.

As someone who works in a people centric role; I have realized that there are certain MUST HAVE skills we need to thrive in life. At the top of that list is Communication skill. Think of the many ways you communicate with someone. From how you engage with them virtually or in-person; to how you respond with your body language. Are you one who’s always misinterpreting what’s being said or poorly relaying a message?

Every time I think I’m getting a hang of this skill, one event happens, and knocks me off my feet. And I find myself starting to learn how to communicate all over again.

Life lessons never end

This brings me to a tweet I made a few days ago as this thought hovered my mind.

When does these learnings stop?

With the unlimited lessons we get to learn from life, some templates to living have already been made available. We have people who have lived the type of life we want to live. These ones are either still with us, and we can actively learn from them; or they have left us to the other side of life; and were gracious enough to document their experiences that have served as a guide for others. However the case, there are guides available. But you see, there’s a more sure guide.

A more sure guide to living

If you have travelled to a new city to explore, you would understand the need to get a guide. Someone who knows the city well enough, and willing to take you to places you want to visit; and even give you background stories about the new environment. If not, you would most likely miss your way and waste time roaming the whole place. You may even get miss your way without achieving your aim.

If we had the opportunity to live twice, then you would be clear enough to know the things to avoid, and the things to do, based on previous life, right?

As a believer, we have a sure guide and he is the person of the Holy Spirit. He is a friend to us and forever willing to help us navigate this life.

“But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is…”

John 16:13a

Moreso, the Bible was written for our learning; and everything that pertains to life and godliness has been mapped out for us to follow. This is so that when the storms of life arise, we won’t go under, and even in chaos, we would still have joy and peace.

How then do you live?

There are two ways:

  1. Take the lessons available in the Bible. It’s like a compass for life, you’re sure to be led to life and light. There are principles for life made available to us in the there. Believer or not, if you follow them, then you are sure to succeed. Some of these principles are on hard work, contentment, sowing & reaping, giving to mention a few.
  2. Embrace the leading of the Holy Spirit. As you read the Bible, there are things the Holy Spirit reveals to you through the Bible about your daily life. He sometimes tells you how to approach situations, how to respond to people, abbl. You need to be sensitive to his leading.

I remember the lyrics of a song we usually sang when I was in Children’s Church and it goes:

God has something to say, listen, listen, pay full attention ‘cos God has something to say

God is always speaking to us, the question is “are you always listening?”

Embrace the life best way to live

Have you lingered in embracing the love of Christ, and accepting Jesus into your life? Here and right now is another opportunity for you to do so now. Say this prayer with me now:

Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life. Help me to walk in Your footsteps daily; by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you said this prayer, congratulations 🎉 and welcome to God’s fold. Heaven rejoices over you and I am glad too. If you need further help on this journey; please send us a mail at info@gleaningwithgrace.com. We would be more than glad to support you.
